Serving over 50,000 students a year in 200 Bay Area schools, San Francisco Opera Guild has been committed to helping young people find their voices since 1939.  In addition to top notch training in singing, acting, and composition we focus on educating the whole child by emphasizing social-emotional growth through the arts, building creativity, self-confidence, collaboration, and self-determination. Particularly seeking Spanish/English bilingual artists.

Teaching Artists for the following programs

Sing a Story:   45 minute interactive singing storytelling of a classic opera for grades K-3 offered in English and Spanish

· Classically trained voice

· Knowledge of opera

· Fluent in Spanish and English

· Strong classroom management skills

· Reliable transportation

· Auditions in November for January-April contract

Book to Bravo! and Voices for Social Justice Residencies: 

Team taught 12 week classroom residencies in which a pair of artists help students create and perform and original operetta based on either a story from their curriculum or a crafted narrative focusing on an issue of social or political importance.  Offered in English or Spanish

Director/Dramatist

· Creative writing/play writing experience

· Directing experience

· Knowledge of opera, theater, musical theater

· Strong classroom and time-management skills

 Musical Director/Composer

· Composition experience

· Vocal direction experience

· Piano and theory proficiency

· Strong classroom and time-management skills

Additionally seeking pianists, and specialist artists for master-classes, performances, and other events.
